ACT V
The setup marriage between Juliet and Paris was coming soon and Juliet would of rather died than marry him. So she went to the Friar Laurence for help and he came up of a plan to fake her death by giving her a sleep potion, but he had to get the message to romeo or else he would really think that she was dead. Juliet took the potion that night she confessed her love to Paris as Friar Laurence told her to. With this news her father made the wedding a day earlier which rushed the plan. Friar John was the one that was supposed to get the message to but he was quarantined from suspected illness and was not able to send the message. Friar Laurence's plan was falling apart. Romeo's servant came to retrieve news and found out about the death of Juliet which he sent to romeo right away. Romeo got to Verona as fast as he can and on the way he retrieved poison from an unknown source. He gets to Juliet's tomb where he finds Paris standing guard. Paris thinking that he will try and ruin her corpse fought him and died and that is when Romeo committed suicide next to his love Juliet. Juliet awakens a moment later and realizes what has happened and also commits suicide. Although all these tragedies took place Friar Laurence was right: It ended the feud between the two families. |
The one to BlameDear Editor,
I realize that there are several people to blame for this horrible tragedy, but the one to be blamed the most should be Friar lawrence. No other Friar would have agreed those two married without the knowing of anyone. His plan for juliets false death was foolish and selfish. If the plan had worked her loved ones would still be heartbroken still thinking that she was dead. There are obviously several others who were involved in this but they knew nothing. Friar Laurence was deeply trusted by Romeo and juliet. Besides he even insisted he was the one to be blamed for his acts were foolish. Sincerely, Sampson |
